Staff Accountant – Nonprofit Organization
Location: Cotuit or Mashpee, MA (On-Site, 5 Days a Week)
Are you an experienced Staff Accountant looking for an opportunity to apply your general ledger, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel skills in a mission-driven organization? A well-respected nonprofit on Cape Cod is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join their team. This role offers a collaborative work environment, excellent benefits, and a stunning location in either Cotuit or Mashpee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage general ledger functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Utilize QuickBooks for financial transactions, reporting, and maintaining accurate records
- Perform financial analysis and reporting using advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling)
- Assist with budget preparation, grant tracking, and financial audits
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting regulations and internal policies
- Support accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions as needed
Qualifications:
✅ 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting
✅ Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
✅ Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
✅ Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
✅ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
