Senior Tax Manager

We are currently seeking a Tax Manager who can direct and manage multiple operations related to taxes. This Tax Manager’s primary responsibility will be to manage compliance-related activities ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. The Tax Manager will be responsible for the preparation and coordination of multi-state and federal tax returns for the consolidated group, and financial statement reporting. This position also includes participation in federal and state tax audits as well as providing technical support in areas of federal and state income tax, international tax, sales tax, and special projects.
The ideal Tax Manager will develop and implement strategies, policies, and system controls that will provide accurate reporting and drive a successful team. Hybrid schedule, very flexible for schedules. Target salary open depending on experience.
Primary Duties
- Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns
- Ensure accurate and timely filings
- Manage tax provision and tax compliance process
- Create and implement strategic tax planning
- Maintain tax balances on general ledger
- Identify and mitigate tax risks
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments
- Build strong client relationships
- Manage and coordinate tax audits
- Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections
- Manage and mentor the tax team
Requirements
The ideal Tax Manager will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
Other requirements for the Tax Manager role include and are not limited to:
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of public accounting experience
- Strong leadership and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Advanced Excel
- Experience with any tax prep software
