As a Senior Internal Auditor at our global asset management firm located in Boston, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our financial operations and compliance with regulatory standards. You will work closely with various departments to assess internal controls, identify risks, and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive internal audits of financial processes, systems, and controls to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
  • Develop risk-based audit programs and procedures to address identified risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Perform testing of key controls and processes to assess their design and operating effectiveness, identifying control deficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and action plans for management's review and implementation.
  • Collaborate with management to develop remediation plans and monitor the implementation of corrective actions to address identified deficiencies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks to proactively identify areas for audit focus and recommend enhancements to the internal audit methodology.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior auditors, fostering their professional development and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the internal audit function.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including business unit leaders, risk management, compliance, and external auditors, to promote collaboration and facilitate the achievement of audit objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CIA,CFA, CISA or other relevant professional certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk management, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulations, including SEC, FINRA, and Dodd-Frank Act requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting risk assessments, developing audit programs, and performing detailed testing of controls and processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate root causes, and develop practical recommendations for improvement.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with audit management software
