Company Description: Our client is a leading financial services firm dedicated to providing exceptional mutual fund services to our clients. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of legal compliance and transparency in the industry.

Job Overview: As a Mutual Funds Paralegal at the firm, you will play a crucial role in ensuring regulatory compliance and facilitating the disclosure process for assigned mutual funds. You will be responsible for drafting, editing, and reviewing various disclosure documents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining adherence to project timelines and regulatory deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the assigned mutual funds and the regulatory framework governing mutual fund operations.
  2. Draft and edit various disclosure documents required for assigned funds, including prospectuses (using Prospectus Builder web-based program), Statements of Additional Information (SAIs), supplements, proxy and information statements, 24f-2s, and Part C documents.
  3. Review disclosure documents, including shareholder reports and N-CENs, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Identify, research, and recommend solutions for issues raised during the preparation and review of disclosure documents, including comments from reviewers.
  5. Coordinate with publishing and/or designated printer for filing documents using the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) system as required by regulatory agencies.
  6. Develop, maintain, and monitor tickler files and calendars to coordinate workflow and adhere to project timelines, due dates, and regulatory deadlines.
  7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, finance, and investment teams, to address regulatory and legal requirements and ensure timely completion of projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of [insert number] years of experience as a paralegal in the financial services industry, with specific experience in mutual funds preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mutual fund regulatory requirements, including familiarity with SEC regulations and filings.
  • Proficiency in drafting and editing legal documents, with experience using Prospectus Builder and EDGAR system preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
