Posted 03/27/2024 By Katie OConnell

A fantastic nonprofit organization with a great cause is looking for an accounting manager to join their team!

This is a very hands-on opportunity where you will actively be involved in the day-to-day tasks of accounting, such as reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and preparing financial documents, in addition to your managerial duties.

Here's an overview of responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing all financial operations within the organization. This includes managing budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. These reports will be used to provide insight into the organization's financial health to stakeholders, including board members, donors, and government agencies.
  • Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and senior management. Monitor budget performance throughout the year and provide regular forecasts to help guide decision-making.
  • Non-profit organizations often rely on grants and donations to fund their operations. You'll be responsible for managing these funds, ensuring they are used in accordance with grant agreements and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations, as well as any specific requirements for non-profit organizations.
  • Coordinate with auditors for annual financial audits and implement any recommended changes or improvements.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as fundraising, program management, and administration, to ensure alignment between financial goals and organizational objectives. Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders and provide support as needed.
