Legal Operations Manager – Attorney Development & Practice Support

Location- Boston- hybrid 4 days in office, 1 day work from home

Targeting 150-175k- DOE

Our client, a prestigious international law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Operations Manager to support a dynamic legal practice group. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, attorney staffing, professional development, and overall management of assigned practice teams.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, polished, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage attorney and staff workflow, staffing, and work allocation across practice groups
  • Partner with leadership on attorney development, evaluations, onboarding, and mentoring initiatives
  • Monitor productivity, utilization, and staffing needs to ensure balanced workloads
  • Support practice group operations, strategic initiatives, and reporting
  • Coordinate training programs, meetings, retreats, and department initiatives
  • Provide management support to paralegal and professional staff teams
  • Assist with recruiting, lateral integration, and retention efforts
  • Support business development initiatives including pitches, events, and client programs
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys, leadership, HR, recruiting, and administrative teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5+ years of experience within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Prior management or team leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience supporting legal operations, attorney staffing, or professional development preferred
