Human Resources Specialist

A fantastic nonprofit client of ours is looking for a HR Specialist to join them. This is a great opportunity for a recent college grad with internship experience or a couple of years of experience in a similar role.

This role will require top notch customer service as they will be the first point of contact within the HR group. Experience and qualifications below!

PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Handle incoming calls directing them to appropriate party
  • Service employees with Human Resources related inquiries
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests
  • Performs a wide range of duties relative to the maintenance and processing of personnel records
  • Receive incoming mail/fax and distribute them appropriately
  • Maintain human resources bulletin boards including job boards, birthday boards and announcement boards
  • Ensure that the human resources forms are stocked at all locations
  • Maintain all employee files
  • Provide administrative support to all areas of human resources and perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist with training room reservations, class sign ups and the preparation of orientation packets
  • Assist with the collection and distribution of employee communications
  • Assist with data entry
  • Assist employees with benefit questions
  • Assist with employee events and recognition programs
  • Provide outstanding guest service to all internal and external guests
  • Support employee relation activity for office
  • Assist department with talent development activities such as performance evaluation system, annual goal-setting process, and employee development plans
  • Support activities to assess and improve employee engagement
  • Develop and update job descriptions with assistance of hiring managers
  • Assist and coordinate miscellaneous Human Resources related projects and tasks as assigned
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management
  • Produce and submit reports on general Human Resource activity
  • Keep up to date with the latest Human Resources trends and best practice

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ year experience in a similar role
  • A self-started person who is eager to learn and can learn quickly while anticipating next steps highly desirable
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills (ADP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
