Contract Controller

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Temporary Controller to support our finance team during a critical system implementation. This role is essential for managing financial reporting, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations, and providing oversight across key accounting functions while we redistribute duties internally.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and present monthly financial statements to leadership, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
2. General Ledger Management: Conduct account reconciliations and GL reviews, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
3. Operations Oversight : Oversee and support finance operations teams including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
4. Internal Controls & Policy Oversight: Update and document accounting policies and procedures to maintain strong internal controls and regulatory compliance.
5. Audit & Tax Coordination: Manage financial statement audits and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
6. Transactional Liaison: Act as a financial liaison between departments, providing guidance on financial processes.
7. Technology & Systems Support: Assist with financial system implementation and process improvements, ensuring a smooth transition.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent preferred. Relevant experience will should be considered.
2. Proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and cash management.
3. Strong skills with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
5. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
6. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software. Preferably Abila, Avid, NetSuite
7. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
8. Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
