Accounting Associate

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team. The Accounting Associate will play a key role in managing financial activities related to construction billing, job cost reporting, estate care billing, and credit card reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience with AIA construction billing, and a proactive approach to financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

Construction Billing

  • Prepare, review, and submit monthly construction progress billing.
  • Ensure billing accuracy by verifying project details, change estimates, commitments and work completed.

Job Cost Reporting:

  • Preparing detailed job cost reports for construction projects.
  • Track project expenses, monitor variances.
  • Ensure that costs align with project estimates.

Estate Care Billing:

  • Assist with preparing and processing estate care-related billing.

Credit Card Entry and Reconciliation:

  • Enter company credit card transactions into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile credit card statements and ensure all transactions are accurately categorized and supported by receipts.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in credit card transactions.

General Accounting Support:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial reporting.
  • Provide support in maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team on various tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Prior experience in construction progress billing.
  • Strong knowledge of job cost reporting and estimate management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with construction project management or accounting software (e.g., Timberline, Sage).
