Accounting Assistant

We are looking for a self starter who is excited to assist with various accounting tasks and work as part of a 5 person team.
The Accounting Assistant will
· Assisting in daily time sheets, payroll assistance, audits, communicating between vendors and our team, resolving internal matters, making sure invoices are processed in a timely manner.
- You will act as the accounting and payroll support- no payroll exp required)
- Support payroll processing by reviewing hours, pay rate changes, and benefits adjustments.
- Assist with Processing payroll for 200+employees bi weekly
- Manage benefit enrollment and review I-9 documentation
- Handle Employment verifications and assist with any terminations
- Administer retirement plan tasks such as sending welcome packages and updating participant info.
- Facilitate new hire processes including document organization and onboarding
- Assist with Drug Test administration and follow up
- Assist with quarterly and year end balancing of company accounts
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns, financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Process accounts payable and ensure timely payment to vendors
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies and complete monthly bookkeeping for clients
- Assist with payroll management and ensure accurate processing of employee payments
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist with the preparation of tax documents and ensure compliance with tax regulations
· Conduct research on technical accounting issues and provide recommendations
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Experience with accounting
- Familiarity with payroll management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
