Staff Accountant- targeting 70k

Description

We are currently working on a full-time position available for an experienced, organized Staff Accountant at a dynamic, growing organization in the medical device industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded, and the role is based in the Plymouth area.

Key responsibilities

- Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process

- Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

- Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision.

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed.

Requirements

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience

- Account reconciliation experience preferred

- Microsoft Excel experience preferred

- Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

- Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent attention to detail

- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- Skilled with ERP systems

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
